Forthcoming Events

www.dylanthomasfestival.com

After the great success of last years extra special commemorations of the  fiftieth anniversary of Dylan Thomas' untimely death back in 1953,  this year has obviously had some sense of anti-climax. However the 'Industry' as Paul Ferris describes it rolls on. New books are forthcoming - the second volume of David N Thomas' 'DYLAN REMEMBERED' , a new and enlarged edition of Min Lewis' 'Laugharne and Dylan Thomas', plus some new editions of standard texts. And the programme for this years Festival at Swansea's  Dylan Thomas Centre is close to being finalised with performances by John Hegley already confirmed and a fine evening celebrating Dylan's Friendship with the great cricket man and all round bon viveur - John Arlott promising to be lively and diverting. Various new plays are being premiered or reprised and a few surprises are in the offing. Watch this space for more details...

Please check it out and plan to visit Swansea at least once during the festival

THE MAP OF LOVE - The Dylan Thomas Movie Project.

The major film based on the life and love of Dylan and Caitlin - entitled "The Map of Love" - by writer/director Chris Monger, is still in pre production and when finally cast should begin shooting  as soon as possible

This is a Jagged Films Production (Mick Jagger's Film Company) and promises to be an interesting and thoughtful movie. More information will be added as and when we can.

This Film is still a project close to the producers heart and all efforts are still being made to assemble a viable production budget to make the kind of serious film the scriptwriter/ director envisions.
